The Subtle Plan

Did you hear that? No… It was nothing, wait… I think there is something. HEY!!! Where is that coming from? Something is “telling” me something that feels right… I think this “voice” has guided me through some thick fog and delivered me to unexpected paradise a few times. Where does this voice come from? Who’s voice is it? Does your faith answer these questions, or is it your intuition and life experience?

Whoever is the speaker of this voice, or wherever it comes from… I have learned to listen to it, to look for it, wait for it, trust it. I call it the voice of the universe, it’s not mine, but it is, because it speaks through me. My only job is to listen and heed.

What does the universe tell me?
Sometimes to relax, be here now for whoever is in front me. Tells me that what I’m doing isn’t nearly important as who I’m being. Sometimes it tugs at me to take a detour, in thought, in conversation, in action, for another view, for a surprise thrill, or a spontaneous opportunity to be of service. For anything

All I know is that is falls hand in hand with following my heart. It’s not that it guides me on some wild rainbow & unicorn quest, but more less reminds me that every obstacle I face has the opportunity to be an opportunity, if I trust myself and surrender to the fact that I can’t possibly control or know everything.

In any interaction there exists the common, my way or your way… but there is also usually a third way, a common path, that mutually benefits all parties involved. This higher path leads the way to a paradigm shift of win/win, vs win/lose: “for me to win, YOU have to loose, and if YOU win, then I lost”. How cool is it for EVERYBODY to win? Every time?

Is this possible? I’d say there is… if I get out of my own way, and release the stifling will to control everything, only considering MY plans. Life has other ideas, and THOSE happen while we’re busy making plans. Of course there are curveballs and monkey wrenches that occasionally rain down, sometimes even tragedy. It is how we respond to adversity that defines us, not the adversity. That is external, but behind every storm cloud lies silver linings.

It is our responsibility to learn from each experience. It is our responsibility to keep moving forward. If it is meant to be, it’s up to me, cause there are no freebies. The are silver linings everywhere we look, if we choose to surrender our control and begin to trust.

Does this sound crazy, relax and trust that everything will work out, be ok? The good voice of Bob Marley says to not worry about a thing, cause every little thing, is gonna be alright. I don’t personally believe that what he is saying is to do nothing, and feel entitled or expect for everything to work out. Luck favors the prepared. Success is when opportunity finds itself seated between preparation and initiative.

Find the third path in all that you do. Listen to your heart and trust yourself, the voice inside offers a glimpse into the subtle plan
