Take a minute and close your eyes. Imagine for a second, that when you open them, the problems that you woke up with this morning are gone. Spend a few moments daydreaming about how your life would be, if for once things went your way, and the same old roadblocks that have been holding you back had vanished…
I’m serious, do it… It can take less than a minute if your pressed for time
What do you see? What are you doing, are you happy there? How close is that to your life now? Is something keeping it illusive and out of reach?
No matter where someone is at in life, everybody dreams. Every walk of life has wants and needs, that is part of the human condition; life, livelihood & love are the pursuits we all share. The same principles & habits that influence the non-tangible aspects of our lives also have a direct influence on the very-tangible aspects as well. The Principle of Correspondence maintains a correlation of harmony between the various “planes” of being and life, The Great Physical, Mental and Spiritual planes. In other words, when applied to our physical state, (life-circumstance, opportunity, health & comforts) the same discipline can influence our mental state, (well-being, relationships, level of contentment & perspective) as well as our spiritual state (liberation & inner peace).
The timeless laws of physics have proven that absolutely NOTHING is at rest, but inversely, absolutely EVERYTHING is in motion, and remains so. From the smallest individual object that we can observe, to the omnipresent cosmos, The Principle of Vibration ensures that a particle moves, vibrates and circles, comprising the atom, just as the planets comprise our tiny solar system, orbiting vastly larger systems that defy human comprehension. The absolute sum total of everything, THE ALL, manifests through infinite levels of vibration; from infinitesimally close to dead still, to infinite, almost to the point of being at rest. This theory dates back to the earliest days of the oldest dynasties of Egypt, an almost prehistoric incarnate that emulates the modern philosophy of string theory, which theorizes the breakdown of the totality of reality.
The discipline of mental transmutation asserts that to change ones thought is to change ones vibration, or level of consciousness, by way of fixing ones attention on a more desirable state through sheer will, or discipline. As The Kybalion says, “all is mind”. I love how Napoleon Hill summarizes Henley’s prophetic statement, “I am the Master of my Fate, I am the Captain of my Soul” in Think & Grow Rich:
…the ether in which this little earth floats, in which we move and have our being, is a form of energy moving at an inconceivably high rate of vibration, and that ether is filled with a form of universal power which ADAPTS itself to the nature of the thoughts we hold in our minds; and INFLUENCES us, in natural ways, to transmute our thoughts into their physical equivalent…this power makes no attempt to discriminate between destructive thoughts and constructive thoughts, that it will urge us to translate into physical reality thoughts of poverty, just as quickly as it will influence us to act upon thoughts of riches.
He later continues to say, “The subconscious mind… works with the material we feed it, through our thought impulses. The subconscious mind will translate into reality a thought driven by FEAR just as readily as it will translate into reality a thought driven by COURAGE, or FATIH”. What is the driving emotion behind that prayer, that plan, that looking up to the sky and asking for help? We may have no control over anything external beyond ourselves, but we do have complete control over our thoughts about it; whether as a result of neglect, or voluntarily directed as a habit, the subconscious mind will feed upon the thoughts that reach it. Become “like a palace guard who is aware of every face that passes through the front corridor” as Thich suggests in The Miracle of Mindfulness. Only through the HABIT of becoming aware of our thoughts, perceptions, judgments & the emotions attached to them, can we influence our mind, which serves as our pattern or blueprint, and magnetizes, translating into a physical reality. This is the Law of Attraction.
If I could be so bold as to try to sum up everything you’ve just read, as the big takeaway, it would be this: to adopt a “way of being” or a steadfast mindset, in which one proceeds through life, asking of & for themselves that which they truly want, as if it were a guarantee and not a gamble. The absence of fear is not the absence of negative possibilities, it is the trust & confidence in the self to make positive all possibilities. Lack of self confidence is our greatest weakness!
So when you close your eyes to dream again, dream big… dream with your heart. OWN IT! Demand it from yourself, not in a, “gee, I hope it works out like that someday” type of way, but in a “man, I can hardly WAIT to make this happen” kinda way. Command it and proceed, become the person that you want to be, by being the person you want to become.
“I bargained with life for a penny,
And life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.
“For life is just an employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.
“I worked for a menial’s hire,
only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.”
